MCAS and the Environment
A lot of people don't realize that in addition to food, the environment also affects Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. MCAS can be aggravated by scents such as perfumes, scented air fresheners, hair spray, and candles, as well as substances containing aluminum like soaps, lotions, and deodorants.
The Histamine Bucket
The body is like an empty bucket. Each activity or food that releases histamine adds to the bucket. The emptier the bucket, the better you feel. When too much histamine is released, or when the bucket overflows, there is a more severe reaction. In my case, I felt extremely nauseous and it took me a week to recover. In other words, do not let the bucket overflow!
